Picture the scene: a vast terminal building crowded with thousands of people, all heaving suitcases around miles of queue barriers. Now imagine you’ve navigated your way through all that, only to find yourself squeezed into a cramped seat alongside hundreds of others, with flight attendants bashing past you as they make their way along a narrow aisle.

This is the usual way of air travel, but it doesn’t have to be like that. There’s a much more comfortable way to fly, and making it happen doesn’t have to be stressful. It’s called private jet chartering – something we, as a long-established air charter broker, know all about.

What is private jet chartering?

Do you need to be somewhere remote in the fastest possible time, but no commercial airline is flying that way? Maybe you’re part of a large group traveling for business or pleasure and need to arrive all together. This is when private jet chartering can be a great solution – and sometimes cheaper too, especially when you book an empty leg flight.

Rather than booking commercial airline seats with the inconvenience and all the discomfort it brings, you could “rent” an entire private jet, which will whisk you to your intended destination in comfort and style. Forget about crowded terminals and airline food. You could enjoy the serenity of a fixed-based operator’s (FBO) private terminal, a sleek private jet, and even your very own customized menu.

With private jet chartering, the sky is not the limit.

Is private jet chartering difficult to arrange?

The simple answer is yes.

But it does not have to be, and that is sole purpose and responsibility of your charter account manager.

Tell us where you need to go, who you’ll be traveling with, any particular preferences, and we’ll do the rest. From selecting the most appropriate aircraft type to organizing the nearest airports for departure and arrival, we will arrange a seamless operation.

With over 5,000 trusted operators in our database, we’re able to tailor-make private jet chartering solutions that are flexible, convenient and competitively priced.

Where can I go and who can I fly with when private jet chartering?

At the last count, almost 1,500 commercial airlines are using just under 4,000 of the world’s airports. By comparison, there are roughly 23,000 private jets and 41,000 airports globally. In theory, this means you could fly anywhere, at almost any time, and with anyone you choose. Our options are endless, whether you want to fly to European hotspots such as France & Greece,  in-demand destinations in the Middle East and Southern Asia such as  KSA, DubaiIndia or anywhere else globally, we promise to cater to your needs and preferences in first class fashion.

If you’re in a small party of travellers, a Very Light Jet like a Citation M2 could take you and three others from London to Paris in just under an hour.

Alternatively, by chartering a Long Range Jet like Global 6000 or Falcon 7X, a group of 9-13 could fly from Paris to the coastal resorts of Kenya in just under eight.

Depending on where you want to go and who with, private jet chartering gives you the freedom and opportunity to fly how you like.

How much will private jet chartering cost?

The following are approximate hourly costs per aircraft type, per hour of flight:

– Turboprops and very light jets: USD 2,500 – 3,500
– Light jets and super light jets: USD 3,500 – 5,000
– Mid-sized and super mid-sized jets: USD 5,000 – 10,000
– Heavy and ultra-long range jets: USD 10,000 – 14,000
– Corporate/VIP airliners: USD 14,000 – 25,000

At USD 3,500 per hour of flight, chartering a Light jet from London to southern Italy is likely to cost in the range of USD 20,000. A longer flight – Paris to Mombasa on a Long Range jet, like a Global 5000, for example – would cost approximately USD 150,000.

The thing to remember when chartering private jets is the experience outclasses “first class” on a commercial airliner. You have the entire cabin to yourself, on a route you stipulate, and at the time you want.

Is private jet chartering worth it?

Private jet chartering comes at a cost, although it brings with it a number of advantages a commercial airline can’t offer:

– Wider access to airports and smaller aerodromes
– Access to Private Terminals
– Fast track ground procedures
– Save time and fly on your schedule
– Exclusive menu prepared by VIP catering chefs
– Cabins innovated and optimized to reduce jet lag
